About the Job

• Bechtol Engineering is seeking a licensed Geotechnical Engineer to join our Materials Testing Engineering Division. Bechtol operates an in-house FDOT and CMEC certified laboratory that works closely with our certified managers and technicians to provide comprehensive testing services for any construction site. In this role, you will work directly with our field and lab team and our clients, prepare project proposals and technical reports, and oversee quality control testing that supports successful project outcomes. The position offers a balanced blend of laboratory, office, and field work, with excellent variety and flexibility.

What You Will Do

• Oversee and conduct field and laboratory tests on construction materials: asphalt, concrete, soil, and steel
• Work with Engineers, contractors, construction teams, and project managers so testing and inspections are completed on time
• Analyze test results to confirm materials meet project specifications, industry standards (ASTM, AASHTO), and regulatory requirements
• Prepare proposals, reports, and data analysis for clients with clarity and accuracy

What You Need

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• PE license
• Proficiency in materials testing methods and standards (ASTM, AASHTO, FDOT) preferred
• Knowledge of laboratory testing equipment for soil compaction, concrete strength, and similar tests
• Project management and organizational skills
