Engineering Services Across Florida

One office. Five rig types. Sixty-seven counties.

Our office and laboratory are in DeLand, which puts most of Central and Northeast Florida within a two-hour drive. With all five rig types available, distance is a scheduling question rather than a capability one. Engineering and drilling take work in all 67 Florida counties. Construction materials testing covers a two-hour drive from DeLand.

Counties We Serve Most Often

These are the counties where our project history is deepest. Each entry names work we have done there.

Beyond these, our engineering and drilling crews work regularly across Central, Northeast, and West-central Florida, including Pasco and Hillsborough counties, and take work in all 67 counties.

DELAND
  • Deepest project history
  • Work in all 67 counties
  • DeLand office and lab
  • Volusia County

Our home county. The office and lab are in DeLand, the county seat. We have tested roadway and site work for Volusia County and the cities of DeLand and Ormond Beach, evaluated and grouted a sinkhole, and drilled on land and in Lake Beresford for Stetson University's aquatic center.

  • Seminole County

For the City of Sanford's RiverWalk, we advanced more than 140 borings into Lake Monroe to support the sheet pile wall and boardwalk design. We also test roadway and site work for Seminole County.

  • Flagler County

Roadway and site testing for Flagler County.

  • Orange County

Geotechnical studies for RaceTrac service stations, part of a program covering more than 40 Florida sites.

What the ground is like across Florida

Florida's foundation problems change with the geology. This is the short version of what our borings run into across the regions we work most.

Region Typical conditions What it usually means
Atlantic coast and barrier islands Flagler, Volusia, Brevard, St. Johns Loose to medium dense sand, shallow water table, salt exposure, fill on older lots Densification or deeper bearing; corrosion protection for buried steel
St. Johns River valley Seminole, Volusia, Putnam Marsh and estuarine deposits, organic layers, soft lakebed soils Settlement governs; over-water borings for shoreline work
Central Florida ridge and lakes Orange, Lake, Osceola Sand ridges, filled lake basins, limestone at variable depth Bore both sides of a suspected former basin; karst possible
West-central karst belt Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando, Marion Thin or missing clay over shallow limestone Borings into rock before any repair design
Northeast coastal plain Duval, Clay, Nassau Deep sand over clays, far deeper limestone Sinkholes rare; fill and organics are the usual cause of settlement

Statewide FAQs

Do you charge more for projects outside Central Florida?
Mobilization is a line item on any proposal and it scales with distance, but it is rarely the deciding factor. On most projects the drilling, laboratory, and engineering time dominate the cost. We would rather tell you the mobilization number honestly up front than surprise you with it later.
Do you have offices outside DeLand?
No. One office and one laboratory, both in DeLand. That is deliberate: the Engineer who scopes your project, the field crew, and the technician who runs the samples all work from the same building. We mobilize to your site rather than routing your work through a branch.
How quickly can you get to a site across the state?
Most projects mobilize within one to two weeks of authorization, often sooner in Central and Northeast Florida. Further out depends on where the rigs already are, and we will give you a real date rather than promise one we cannot hold. If you have a permit or closing deadline, say so on the first call.
